I look closer.  I think. I imagine what I want to see. I find out what the material will do.  Making the art is exhilarating.  The finished product is fun to look at.  I show my art to get people to look closer, think, imagine or have fun.

Back story:

I started making photographs of sunsets that my mother pointed out daily.  I photographed a symbol made on a light post out of chewed gum.  I documented my entry into drinking daily.  In elementary school art class was objective. I didn't care for that.  In high school photography was objective but I did well.  At the University of Missouri Saint Louis I found a drive to make art.  I have evolved since I shot my first few rolls of film but my subject are still natural beauty, litter, and drink.

Thank you for looking at my art and learning more about me and what I do.
